The Vienna disinfectant database WIDES has been awarded a recommendation as part of the European campaign for healthy workplaces.

The Vienna disinfectant database WIDES is recommended by several international organizations – including the World Health Organization (WHO), the International Labour Organization (ILO) and the global urban network ICLEI, an association of cities, municipalities and counties for environmental protection and sustainable development. On 12 November 2019, the European Agency for Safety and Health at Work (EU-OSHA) also endorsed the WIDES database as part of the Healthy Workplaces – Detecting and Handling Dangerous Substances campaign. The assessment by EU-OSHA confirms the WIDES assessment scheme, which was significantly co-developed by the Bureau for Chemical Engineering TB-Klade.
